A dark-colored building with large windows and a sign indicating it is an antiques store, with American flags hanging on either side of the entrance. The interior lights are on, showing furniture inside, and there are potted plants with flowers outside. The sky above displays a purple and blue sunset or twilight, with silhouettes of tall trees in the background.

My passion for antiques developed at a very young age, inspired by the life-long collection of my grandmother.   By the age of twelve, I was working in the business, mentored by noted Pennsylvania dealers Margaret Mutschler and Jack Squires who were extremely generous with their knowledge and taught me the finer points of authenticating furniture and accessories.  My architectural studies, at the University of Virginia, honed my appreciation for form, proportion and beauty, all essential in evaluating the aesthetic appeal of antiques.

In 1992 I opened my own shop devoted to country Americana, housed in a restored 18th century carriage house in Litchfield County, Connecticut.  The shop was frequented by a diverse mix of collectors, dealers and interior designers, so I ensured that each piece had both authenticity and decorative appeal.  A feature in Architectural Digest helped to broaden my clientele of noted interior designers.

Now, I’m focusing my collection on American folk art and unique and distinctive accessories of the 18th and 19th centuries, exhibited at Flying Pig Antiques in Westmoreland, New Hampshire.   Although I hope you’ll have the opportunity to view my collection in person, the friendly and knowledgeable folks at Flying Pig will be happy to assist you with a website purchase – please see the “Contact” page for details.

Happy Antiquing!
