Pair rustic convex round sconces hand-cut from heavy gauge tinplate. The candle cups are supported by curved hand-wrought iron rods, attached with irregular soldering, typical of early tinwork. The fronts are completely oxidized with some rust and smoke residue. The rear of each sconce retains remnants of the original bright surface. New England or Mid-Atlantic, circa 1770-1810. 12” diameter x 14.25” high.
